Accounting and Tax Compliance (24–40 hours)

Position Overview

Nexpat is expanding its accounting and tax compliance team.

We are seeking an experienced financial administrative professional with solid expertise in Dutch accounting and tax law.

This position combines technical execution with advisory responsibility. The role is intended for professionals who not only prepare financial statements and tax returns, but who are capable of interpreting figures and identifying fiscal implications.

The position is available for 24 to 40 hours per week.

Role and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing accounting and tax compliance assignments for a portfolio of clients, including expats, international entrepreneurs and Dutch corporate structures.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of annual financial statements, including more complex files
  • Preparation of Dutch income tax returns and corporate income tax returns
  • Monitoring statutory filing deadlines and compliance planning
  • Review of bookkeeping files and safeguarding internal quality standards
  • Supervision and guidance of junior colleagues
  • Acting as primary contact for assigned clients
  • Advising on administrative structuring and fiscal matters
  • Contributing to the professionalisation and optimisation of internal processes

The role requires a proactive attitude. You are expected to identify risks, signal opportunities and contribute to long-term client relationships.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience within an accounting or tax practice
  • Completed MBO or HBO education in finance, accountancy or taxation
  • Experience with automated bookkeeping systems
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Solid knowledge of Dutch income tax and Dutch corporate tax

In addition, you:

  • Work accurately and independently
  • Communicate clearly with clients and colleagues
  • Demonstrate a client-focused and professional attitude
  • Are comfortable working in both Dutch and English

Experience with expat tax Netherlands matters or international corporate structures is considered an advantage.
